Team Bugs win 2008 VW Family Picnic Games

October 2008 - Largo FL

The day started out with Face Painting, Hot Wheels fun, Coloring contest entries and set-up.

Then it was horse shoes and kickball. We will have a sign up next year so if you want to play you won't miss out on the fun. Look for Thee if you don't see the sign up sheet.

Team Bug win the horse shoe games.

Adults and kids a like join in the fun and Team Bug wins the kick ball game too. 2 and 0.

Everyone was getting hungry. Next time lunch will be served AFTER kickball.

After we all enjoyed some fun and food we ended up in the parking lot enjoying the cars.

Next year we will have a simple best in show ribbon for the best Vdub in the lot.

After our food settled and we finished socializing we had a sack race. Team Buses won the sack race. 2 and 1. So Team Buses had to win the Tug-of-War. As Thee yelled out "Who's better Bugs or Buses?" Buses won 2 and 2.

Tieing up the game required a tie breaker. We had a name that part game. Martin formally with Total Performance and Single Cab Dave with NVWA were matched in their knowledge of VW parts. So the final tie breaker was arm wrestling. It was between Single Cab Dave from NVWA for Team Bugs and Tucker our smores cheif for Team Buses.

Team Bug wins the VW Family Picnic Games. Everyone signed the reward, raffles were given out and Thee thanked everyone for coming, for their support and involvement. Everyone enjoyed the park for a little while longer and the day ended. Many kids stayed from the beginning to the end of the day. Thee says "The best part was when the kids walked up to me and said 'thanks for doing this I had fun' and 'I'm having so much fun I don't want to go home' comments like that made all the hard work, time and expense all worth while"

The VW family trophy and the gift for best in show coloring contest.

At the end of the day it was a successful and fun event.

Worth having many more!
